Make your life experiences count! mPLAR is a process where the skills you have learned in life and work are evaluated and can be translated into academic credits toward your high school diploma.

Examples of creditable activities include apprenticeship programs, paid work, volunteering, travel and childcare.

You may need to complete assessments for Grade 9 and 10 credits and provide evidence through credentials or documented experiences for Grade 11 and 12 credits. This is assessed with academic credits being awarded as merited. Please note that mPLAR credits are not sufficient in themselves to grant a high school diploma; some credits must be earned by study.

Am I Eligible?

  • All students who are 18 or older on August 31st, 2024 may be eligible for mPLAR credits.
  • mPLAR assessments can only be performed for students who are registered with Gary Allan Learning Centres.
  • You must have less than 26 high school credits to be eligible for mPLAR credits.
